Steel Legion

Very fun fight.  Grats to Murlocks and Jarreth for getting the first official raid boss loots of Cata. 

So I am questing in Twilight Highlands and this guy asks if I want to kill a rare spawn.  I say sure why not.   First pull tanks turns the guy to us and wipes us in an instant.  Ok the leader said we need more people, so we pug a few and get up to a 10 man.  I managed to get 4 Steel Legion members in.  So we try again. Death after death, we keep pounding this guy down (30 M health, outdoor boss, so we can run back).  Apparently we kited him to far and he begins to evade, and reset.   Right then and there everyone leaves, except the 4 Steel Legion members.  They gave up with out saying good bye or anything.  That is just not the Steel Legion way.   With the group disbanded, I thought he was fair game, so we rallied the troops and got all the Steel Legion members online to go kill that bastard.  Grats on the new dagger Rudy.

P.S.  He reset on us too, but we didn’t give up.

We managed to make some good progress on Omnitron for a few hours, but then went over to Tol Barad and Pwned Aragloth.   2 PVP epics dropped but that is alright, very fun night. Rellan and Jarreth where there as well healing (sorry Recount doesn’t show your names).  I need to get better at taking screenshots.

December 7th is the release date for the next Expansion.  Get your gold ready and your leveling caps on.  I will donate an in game item from the Trading Card Game to the first person who hits 85 on there main in the guild.  No nothing fancy as I am poor and don’t even play the Trading Card game.  It will be just a common Sandbox Tiger.   This will give you 50 charges of a little  tiger to play on.  I know it isn’t much, but it is all for fun.   Here is the WowHead link:  http://www.wowhead.com/item=45047/sandbox-tiger#comments

As for the rest of November, I think we should plan on 1 or 2 things.  First Lich King 25 would be nice, but really is gear that important at this stage in the game.   I would think the only reasons to head back into 25 man ICC would be to get Shadowmourne and due that special quest for the Guild.  5 cool unique items.   Probably not going to happen ad Dkaron needs a lot more shards.

Second I still believe working on Uldaar Drakes and Mimrion Mount would be cool. Also as a side benefit get Jazira her legendary as well.  I really would like to see someone in the guild cruising around in this mount.  Wowhead link: http://www.wowhead.com/item=45693  It is a guaranteed drop now, but after Cata will be as rare of a drop as Ashes of Alar, and we know how many people have that.

Anyway as always before expansion, we will see some people tone back there raiding and playing, because the mentality is “what is the point”.   Mainly we want to keep doing things together so we can transition into the expansion better.  I have been through all of these expansions as I am sure many of you have been as well.  A lot of times they can really hurt a guild as a whole and in fact the first 2 expansions we kind of fell apart.  However when WOTLK came out, a lot of us in the guild managed to stay together fairly well.  I truly believe that the reason for that was keeping up with a raiding schedule that last month before the expansion and a raiding/playing schedule right after expansion.

So after Cata comes out we will take the first few days off of raiding (Wed and Thurs) to just explore and level.  However come the following Monday we start doing our normal raid times.  Obviously we  will not all be 85, if any of us.  But on raid nights, we will group together to run instances or quest together, etc.  The purpose is to help your fellow guild members out.  On those nights we will take DKP or what ever we call it in Cata for showing up and playing with your guildies.  We will have like an on time and end of night DKP award (not to worry we won’t be all three hours, probably just from 7;45 to 10 or something like that).   That way when we start raiding,  you will have a little stockpile to spend on loot.

As most of you know our Guildmaster, Kawaihae, of the past three plus years has stepped down for a much needed break.  I would just like to thank Kawaihae for all his time and heart that he put into Steel Legion, without him Steel Legion probably would have went that way of the Dodo by now like many, many other guilds have throughout the years.   I only hope as your new GM, I can last as long and do as well as he did.

We are getting Sindragosa to phase 3 nearly every time we engage. At this points its a matter of refining the dps in that phase.

In Ruby Sanctum, we have nearly finished there as well, again, its a matter of balancing the shadow and flame aspects. On the horizon is Lich King 25 and heroic modes.

Yes there is the picture. Other updates include getting much closer to Lich King on 10 man and getting to phase three on Sindragosa. We need paladins.

As the saying goes, “Screen shot or it did not happen”. It happened despite the best efforts of goblin engineers and troglodyte odds makers working for Blizzard. Grats Nellie!

Let’s be fair. Girl’s aren’t always the solution.
