Ranks

Updated: October 12, 2009

People’s position in them reflects what level of service they are currently able to provide the guild. Ranks hold some significance in the selection of raid ready members and the distribution of loot in some cases.

Centurion

These are the most dedicated, able and willing Legionnaires we have. When we are on the cusp of downing a boss the mere presence of the Centurions will make the difference. Centurions get priority raid invites and priority for certain recipes and unique items.

Legionnaire

These members are raid tested and able to carry our standard into instances. They live the Legionnaire’s Creed. The only thing that keeps these people from being centurions is lack of attendance and perhaps certain gear

Journeyman

These people are new to Steel Legion and have not yet received the blessing of membership from their Class Leader, an Officer, or the GM. Time in this rank should be short. They have already indicated that they will adhere to the Legionnaire’s Creed, but are still in the process of proving themselves battle worthy. Recruits are being tested for their ability to perform and their overall attitude; Will they be a good fit in our guild? People may receive loot while a recruit, but only if no one else needs them. Time in this rank should be short, unless the journeyman has come into our ranks with insufficient gear, then they will remain until they get sufficient upgrades.

Citizen

This rank holds many past friends, people who have not been active in a long time, and a few of our alts. Members of the Citizen rank have the lowest priority for raid invites and are not eligible for loot unless no one else has a need for it. This is the lowest rank that may receive loot.

Plebe

Plebes are those who are nearly on the way out the door, or for some reason need to have their access limited. Noone stays a plebe for long. The situation gets fixed or they get removed.

Class Leader

These are people that have demonstrated outstanding knowledge of their class and an ability and willingness to aid others in spec’ing, gear reccomendations and other things. They are expected to handle class level decisions in raids and may direct members of their class to talent spec in certain ways. They will review new applications for membership.

Praetor

These are leaders who have the mental and verbal ability to organize and run our raids. During these guild sponsored events everyone answers to them.

GM

Any kind of major policy decision is the GMs responsibility. This guy is supposed to have some sort of vision in a long term sense for the guild, should be diplomatic and will monitor the sense of the membership. Disciplinary actions, if needed, will be handled by the GM. Complaints about the guild? This is the go to guy.

If you need an adjustment to one of your toons for any reason, talk to the GM or one of the Class Leaders when you have a chance.
