Not us. Last night brought us two new boss kills, Ignis the Furnace Master and Razorscale. This rounds out our Siege of Ulduar achievements having cleared the other two bosses in the area. As before Kologarn now stands in our way but we shall pass.

No, I Guess YOU Don’t Bend That Way
So after a full night of learning attempts and a small refinement to our strategy, we took out the child robot, along the way earning an unexpected achievement. Earlier in the evening while Wintergrasp was held by Alliance forces, Emalon the Storm Watcher also provided Steel Legion’s first piece of Tier 8 gear.
We rounded out the night with a visit to Kologarn’s chamber but got strong armed. We’ll get him to cough up some loot this next week.

Ulduar Breached
Wednesday we hit Ulduar 25 man. We tried Leviathan with the flame tower up and did it. Our only regret was that we should have tried it Tolkien style (two towers), right away. Well, that’s for next week.
We’ve been exposed to the Razorscale, Ignus, and the Deconstructor. We had Deconstructor to 8%. So we expect to get at least some real boss down by Monday. Overall the new raid dungeon is very fun. No one misses Naxxramas at all.

New Ranks and DKP System for Ulduar
Steel Legion has been operating under the same stable rankings and DKP system for about two years now. It has served us moderately well, but like all time/reward devices, it can be improved. Given that we finished all content well before Ulduar’s release and most of the achievements associated with voluntarily making the fights harder, its time to upgrade our core values and trade them for that marginal edge.
Currently we have the following ranks in our guild: GM, Officer, Centurion, Legionnaire, Citizen, Aspirant, Recruit, Alt Officer, Alt, and Plebe. These will be transformed to the more simple: Emperor, Temple Guardian, Task Master, Supplicant, and Unwashed.
In addition the current DKP (Dragon Kill Points) system will be augmented with Favored Unconditionally Calculating Knight points. Those who hold the new points may use them in addition to or instead of the old DKP points. The new points do not replace but add to the currency in use. The key is that it doesn’t matter how many DKP points you have the F.U. Calculating Knight points will always be worth more, sort of like the trump suit in a card game. Members are free to strategically use points from both columns!
The new system is officially running now and members are encouraged to check their new placements.
All of this is in preparation for the new T8 gear, more epic mounts, and of course, the legendary priest healing mace which we as a guild will be striving for.
Also the guild will be facing new repair costs, and um, a few other things. Therefore, we’re opening our guild bank for repair of items and other costs benefitting guild progression for those that hold the appropriate rank (Temple Guardian or above). As usual, ranks in Steel Legion are merit and service based. Once a guild member deposits 30,000g in the guild bank, they will have access to the benefits and responsibilities befitting that rank.
Today we celebrate for the first time in all history a garden of pure ideology, where each member may bloom, secure from the pests of any contradictory true goals.
To Ulduar and Beyond!
