After early attempts last week we shifted our strats on Lord Marrowgar to a healer heavy roster and easily defeated him. Deathwhisper was rather easy, one of her trash spiders gave us more trouble than she did. The Gunship Battle was pretty fun and Deathbringer was put to rest.
That was done 10 man. Our second group made great progress also, clamoring their way up to the Gunship.
This week we will strive to get these things done in a twenty five man raid.
On the supposed night before the release of Ice Crown Citadel we were still making progress on Heroic TOC. Just nabbing Jarraxas was nice. We started a strat with three healers, then we went to two and refined things a bit. Our final successful attempt was close and cost us all of our cooldowns, but was also quite rewarding.
Things are looking up on the recruitment front as well. Although not quite up to 25 man strength, we have been attracting some nice people to the guild lately. Anyone interested in rounding out our roster can take a look at what classes we need.
Done. We settled on a strategy of using one tank and the aoe method of bringing the flowers down in health. Our next hard mode in Ulduar will be fire fighter with Mimiron.
Well, finally, the 10 man version of TOC beasts have been put to rest. Moving onward to Jarraxas we whittled him down to 50% health. Grats to Jazira, Otome, Eliwar, Shymea, Gabrieal, Nelliepoo, Rudolpho, Hugeone, Dkaron and Kawaihae.
The Official first in the guild to nab the Glory of the Hero Achievement is Jazira pictured below. In other guild news we’ve carved out all the hard modes in Ulduar except Mimiron. That will come soon. This is all a stop gap though. We continue to press for more recruitment and getting back to 25 man content.

Darnasus. Wednesday, October 14.
Steel Legion will host a PUG run at Ulduar 25 this evening. Our raids form at 7:30 p.m. Whisper Kawaihae for an invite. The plan will be to head straight for the Keepers and beyond. For this first week no hard modes will be attempted, except on Leviathan (we’ll do one tower up).
Loot will be given on an as need basis with /roll 100s as the determinging factor. Fragments of Val’anyr will be master looted to Steel Legion’s Jazira. Jazira already has 17 fragments and is our Val’anyr designate.

We decided to change things up a bit last night and went back to Ulduar. After a few adjustments we defeated the Thorim encounter on hard mode. He is much more enthusiatic upon being freed in hard mode than normal. We also didn’t realize how close we were to beating Hodir on hard either. Next week, we’ll whittle those last few seconds down.
We continue to seek new recruits for 25 man content. All classes are open at this point and there are some class officer and raid leader positions available to those who have that extra something to give. On the raiding front, we continue to do what we can with typically 15-20 people showing up for raids.
Last night we attempted 10 man TOC heroic for four hours. We wiped. A lot. Thirty attempts? Hey, we are nothing if not stubborn. But being stubborn doesn’t get you progression, improvement does. With this particular ten man crew we started out having a very difficult time with just Gormok. But at the end of the evening we were well past the worms and facing Icehowl, getting him to 20% on our best shot.
One benefit of having suffered a mass exodus of raiders is that it’s easy to know who the stubborn loyal ones are. They’re the ones who run back to the instance with you and try to figure out what can be improved for the next attempt.
Anub’arak downed 10 man normal. Normally we would not even advertise 10 man content but that’s all we can run at the moment. We are in a rebuilding mode right now, knocked out of 25 man content until we recruit more players. But this was a good example of our resolve. This was our third night against the faction champions, we were having a difficult time. But we stuck it out and downed them trying multiple strats, talent builds, etc.
Recruitment is wide open.
We’ve kept up with the new Argent Crusade encounters. Our designated wielder of Val’Anyr, Jazira is well over the 50% fragment mark. We continue to work the hard modes and make our way to tougher challenges.
