Yesterday we had our first real shot at Al’ar. It was a nice fun, new fight. We quickly cleared through the first phase of the encounter and began refining our technique on his rebirth phase. Our best attempt landed us at 61%. We are looking forward to more. Soon.

Winterchill’s Attacks Repelled: Alliance Camp Safe

We started poking around in Mt. Hyjal ever since patch 2.4 came out. It was new content and even the trash drops have proven productive to us. After a few weeks of off handedly grabbing random loot, recipes and hearts of darkness we’ve built up our fight knowledge of the first encounter.
We’re calling it a one shot for the day. Even though our first attempt was interrupted by a server outage, we came back from a brief respite over on the Sisters of Elune server. Hogger was fun, and again the level two warrior known as Kawaihae proved unworthy, but memories of the riverside brute taking us to school were quickly forgotten once back defending the Alliance camp. Yesterday we polished off Winterchill.
Our immediate plans include finishing Tidewalker, and really starting to carve our way through Tempest Keep. We will keep SSC in the rotation, but will start to focus on Al’ar until we have the phoenix down (twice).

Hex Lord Gives up the Ghost

After one shotting Nalorakk, Akil’zon and Halazzi, and a few tries for Jan’alai, we came to the Hex Lord once again. It took one respawn attempt worth of tries to figure it out, but we pressed on and made the ‘arduous’ clear once again to Malacrass’ Inner Sanctum.
After several learning fights we decided to kill the dragonkin side kick and cc the other three adds. This left us with barely enough health and mana to finish Malacrass before he became too powerful. It will be nice to down Zul’jin’s soon.

Karathress Down

There will be no big epic story today. No tales of huge efforts. Sometimes as it turns out, you just walk up to a boss and one shot him, even for a first time kill. T5 pants are in the house.
SSC, 1, 2, 3.
First night of the week: Hydross, Lurker, and Leo.
The pain train pulls into Fathom Lord Station this evening at 8pm.

A New Direction for Steel Legion

We’ve been slogging away at PvE for a long time now and lately the game just doesn’t hold the same happy tune that it used to. Many of us are getting sick of the quests, the endless trash, stupid drops, and most of all the ganking.
We had a guild wide “feelings and issues” meeting last night on vent. Afterwards we decided to move away from the Darkspear realm. We need something more from the game. We need an avenue where we can express our spirits better, our artistic qualities. We need the experiences that only a role playing server can offer.
We’ll be rolling horde on the Sisters of Elune server.
We are very much looking forward to helping our new brothers and sisters find fully enriching lives in the lore of World of Warcraft. We already have scripted responses to help those find Mankrik’s wife, have published reports on the best way to harvest cactus apples, and safe and respectful ways to interact with members of the Alliance.
For the Horde!
In service to Thrall, Son of Durotan,
