So last night during our Karazhan run, the servers went down, along with them the instance servers. It turns out that they were out for about 20 minutes.
We decided to roll level 1s in Northshire and go pound Hogger. It was a cool sight as twenty or so unguilded bozos came streaming through Goldshire on their way to their deaths. We were almost half way to level two from discovering new zones when we met our first resistance, a level 10 gnoll. This was an epic drag down fight, and we lost two of our comrades. The lead warrior Kawakawa was a noob and could not hold aggro. Repeatedly the DPS was out of control and climbed ahead on KTM. This resulted in a few deaths early on.
Eventually we located Hogger in his “lair”. He pretty much one shotted us, toon by toon. In the end he stood triumphant over forces garbed only in cadet and acolyte rags. The only thing that saved us from further shame was word that the servers were back up, we bailed.
Even though we were a bit troubled by infernals, I’ve got this to say to Prince, “Pound for pound, Hogger could kick your ass”.
Monday we head back to Gruul’s.

On our Monday run to Gruul’s Lair we had him to 16%. We’ll still need to work on survivability, preparedness, reaction to the ground slams and over all dps. But this is a good sign of progress.
As the academic year descends upon us, we find some members shifting their priorities around a bit. The result is that Steel Legion will be looking for additional members.
We’re looking ahead to gearing up more and continuing to progress. Of course.

Our goal for the week was to get at least to Curator with two groups. We did that with one of the groups in one evening. The other group got through Aran. Saturday hopefully both groups will take out Prince and the bonus bosses. Monday we are heading back to Gruul’s Lair.
King Maulgar Down again, much easier this time around. We have had an influx of people to the guild and now have a full roster, save a few healing spots. We studied up on Gruul techniques, on the job training, if you will, and got him to 30%. Our strategy of stubborness and persistence is starting to pay off.
This week will mark the first time that we will be running two groups into Karazhan. We’ll see how it goes, the goal is to get twice as much loot distributed per week. We may not clear with both groups, but more people will get geared up this way.
That’s our plan and we’re sticking to it.

Tonight we got Gruul down to 43%. Numbers and Steel Legion do not always play well together. For instance, we have a love affair with the number one. I wish I had a dollar for every time we got a boss to 1%…
On the whole we improved, last Thursday we got Gruul to 58%. This week 43%. A good measure of progress. We didn’t have the best group makeup, but I can assure you we had the best fun. I think the best time had by all was when three Lair Brutes cleaved us to smithereens in less than 8 seconds. I couldn’t talk on vent for like 5 minutes I was laughing so hard.
But we did manage to improve. With the right group we will do better and get our game on. It’s only a matter of time now when we will hold this guy up by his ankles and shake him loose for lunch money, i.e.. our T4 leggings.
We took out any residual frustrations on Netherspite. Karazhan cleared again.

On our third entry (or was it our fourth?) and after steadily making progress in the evening, we knocked Maulgar off his throne. This is our first successful 25 man content as a guild, and another mark of success. It feels good and I might say with all their hard work, the people of Steel Legion deserved it. Two T4 shoulder tokens dropped and some two handed mace that we gave away.
Excited with our victory, we headed into the actual lair of Gruul. After two sets of attempts we got him to 58%. Live it up while you can snot boy, your days are numbered.

A calm day at the bank? Perhaps people lining up to get enchants from Vemones? Or something that serves as a prelude to another brighter purpose?
When will the mischief be managed?
